Lowther Park Forest

Renewing Weary Spirit

Lowther Park is a predominantly coniferous forest with good views across to the coast and easy access from the Cold Fell road, or Wilton, near Egremont in West Cumbria. A good forest road network provides access around the forest which is suitable for biking and walking.

The forest road network is very quiet should you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Unexpected, and amazing views await those walking around the forest. It is well worth a visit.

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men’s hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

Robert Louis Stevenson
