Why The Long Face?

A horse walks into a bar. The bartender asks “Why the long face?”

Oh, you’ve heard it? never mind πŸ˜‹

I spotted this old dear while out on a daily walk. She looked incredibly fed-up with the world and seemed pleased to see me, with a little nuzzle to my shoulder. I obliged by giving her a gentle stroke.

I would love to have given her a penny for her thoughts. I wonder what she was thinking? Who’s the weirdo, perhaps? Hopefully my short interjection gave her a few moments of happiness. I’ll make a point of stopping by at least once a week, just to offer her a greeting.

  • If you see a horse at a gate, do be cautious when approaching. Not all are amicable, and they can give a pretty nasty bite. I was once bitten on my left tit πŸ˜‚ when I was younger, and swiftly learned my lesson.

Allow the horse to approach you – but take note of their ears – if forward, it’s generally OK. If ears are flat against the head, and nostrils flared, or you see a swinging head and stomping feet – stay away.

Also, never feed a horse. It could be on special medication, or you could be giving them something that could cause harm, such as bloat – which can be fatal. Besides, you wouldn’t want a stranger feeding your child, would you?

I call horses ‘divine mirrors’ – they reflect back the emotions you put in. If you put in love and respect and kindness and curiosity, the horse will return that.

    1. It was taken on my phone. They seem to be getting better with each model released. Its hard to keep up with all developments. I’ve had this 12 months now and it’s probably been superseded by numerous models on the market.
