Should I Buy A Treadmill?

For a little while now, I’ve been contemplating buying a treadmill so that I’ve no excuse in not running when the weather is poor. I know I could suck it up, and run in the pouring down rain, but where is the fun in that? Plus, how’d I run while holding an open umbrella? 🤭

Over time, it would be much more cost effective than gym membership, and to be honest, I couldn’t see myself as a MAMIL in a gym anyways. The thought of that gives me goosebumps.

The downside is the initial hurt if I was to put my hand in my pocket to buy one… I’m a bit of a cheapskate.

Plus, I don’t have a lot of room in my home for a treadmill, so I’d have to opt for a folding model.

If I bought one, it would probably be used two or three times a week, weather dependent. I wouldn’t be too fussed about it having all the bells and whistles, such as bottle holder and heart rate monitor – they are gimmicks after all, and just push the price up (cheapskate).

I must admit, I’m particularly interested in the Reebok ZR7 Treadmill. In the UK it is currently priced at £300 ($390 USD). Unfortunately, it’s got all the features that I don’t think are needed (cheapskate).

  • Do you have a treadmill?
  • Do you use it?
  • What should I do?
  • Will you buy one for me? Lol

Maybe I’ll wait until the January sales 😂

  1. Absolutely NO WAY should you buy one. You’ll be bored witless in 5 minutes. Running is all about feeling the wind in your hair (maybe the rain running off your furrowed brow) and taking in the ever-changing scenery. All this while contemplating the words for your next blog… 🙂

    1. You’re probably right. Boredom strikes me down pretty ferociously, and then the silliness takes over. I’d probably end up headbutting the treadmill, or being launched through a wall.

Maybe I should save the money and invest in a new Camera.. Now there’s a thought 💡

  2. I have a treadmill. I would set it up occasionally in my sun room facing the garden and throw open the door and run. However mostly I don’t use it … because it’s beautiful where I live, and truthfully I am more motivated to walk or run outdoors. When I was into serious training the treadmill was useful but mostly … I am bad.

  3. The more I think about this, I believe I wouldn’t use it as much as I’m hoping to. I have an exercise bicycle there which is spun up to speed perhaps once a month. With that in mind, and the contribution of you guys, I think I’ll give the treadmill a miss.
